What you need to know about Visa’s 3% Surcharge Cap ??
If you haven’t heard, Visa has lowered the amount a merchant can surcharge for transactions on its credit cards from a maximum of 4% to 3%. Surcharging on debit cards, even if processed as signature-based debit, is not permitted. Doing so is a violation of the Dodd-Frank Act, which caps debit card costs.
The good news here is that this DOES NOT affect merchants who are enrolled in our Cash Discount program on Duo.
